waterfront beach resort | huntington beach, ca | wedding venue, honeymoon, or party location

Briana and I had a major mid-week treat last week when we visited the Waterfront Beach Resort (a Hilton Hotel) in Huntington Beach for their "Wedding Planner's Pillow Party".  We had no idea what we were in for, and it is now one of my new favorite hotels in all of Southern California.  I can't wait to show you why! Because I am a planner by nature and not just profession, I got there a little early.  I made my way up to my room to find the view below.  Moments later, a knock on my door revealed the Concierge with a glass of champagne and fresh strawberry- badass VIP treatment all the way.

Every single room at the Waterfront Beach Resort has a water view!

Not bad, right?!  I simply had to enjoy the glass of champs while sitting out on my patio and taking that in for a little while before our fun night started.  The beach is an easy walk across the street, and the hotel offers mandatory valet parking for guests, which I love- just pull up and start your vacation/staycation.  Below is a glimpse of the pool area during the day, also from my room, which was on the 12th floor.  See the table in the upper right?  It was lavishly and beautifully decorated, and it is where we enjoyed an awesome dinner and drinks later in the evening.

I think brides, grooms, mini-mooners, and bachelorette parties alike could easily enjoy a day by this pool in the SoCal sunshine.  Next time I get the chance, I think I will take a day to bring my laptop and work out there- or not, forget the laptop part!

The pool area at night is equally inviting...

Because everyone loves a good food pic (what are cell phones for, if not to take pictures of your food), here is one half of our delicious dinner.  I am a harsh critic when it comes to shrimp, and Briana thinks that every good restaurant can be judged on their Ceasar salad; so we decided to split this one.  It was awesome!  The best part of our dinner, though, was a straight up peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  It was served on Amish bread, grilled, and included house-made bourbon peanut butter and jalapeno jelly.  It was so good, we gobbled it down and mysteriously forgot to take a photo.  You can take my word for it- I would probably drive to Huntington Beach just for that sandwich.  Go get one!  Calories don't count during parties, weddings, or honeymoons.

Our special night continued with a scavenger hunt, personalized pajamas (SO COOL!  And yes, Keep Calm and ASK US!), Uggs slippers, fancy drinks, mini-spa treatments by Carina at Flawless Faces, and of course, all the best snacks.  The Catering Managers Kathy, Bridget, and Vanessa had the room decorated so cute with "clouds" and stars, sparkly linens, and ice blue uplighting (you know I always tell you how important lighting and linens are to a wedding design!).

I can't wait to go back and tour their wedding spaces soon, and to find a perfect couple for this venue, because with service like that, you know they put on a good wedding!

For more information, call 714.845.8000 and ask for Kathy, Bridget, or Vanessa!  Let them know I sent you.  Oh, and grab me one of those PB&J's.
